Something in disharmony is in conflict. Someone in disharmony is conflicted. We hear a sound or see the flash of a shadow and our minds race to define what “it” is. Experiencing life’s stuff in various social encounters combines with our need to interpret intentions and motives of others. We assume our shared world of relationships should fit our terms given our particular needs in that moment or period of our lives. As we attempt to form fit the world into the shape and substance of our own understandings discords of many kinds arise.
In the darkness of our various discords or agitations we may carry around with us we can experience things that just aren’t there. We can easily misconstrue the meaning of someone’s look on their face, the vocal intonation as someone refers to us, body language, or words imperfectly uttered.
To live in harmony with life, our deepest self, and our loving God we need to realize the gift of life can reveal Sacred Source is One, we can be one with each other, and we can be singular in our intention to live holistically. Living in harmony doesn’t mean all becomes simple. It means we make ourselves available to be used by life for its uplifting ends of simply sharing life in love with All.
Romans 14:19 (NRSV): “Let us then pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.” May this be our calling. Dewit Jones a great artist and teacher of living in harmony shares this celebration photo. Share what encourages and enhances life. As we’re sharing love, there is this garden replenishing us all. All our welcome.
