FROM THE GCC BOARD OF MISSIONS
Christmas in April is a volunteer organization that repairs the homes of people who are either financially and/or physically unable to do so themselves so that they may live in warmth, safety and independence. After months of planning and preparation Christmas in April culminates in a National Rebuilding Day on the last Saturday of April.
Greenbelt Community Church, United Church of Christ has participated in this program since 1989. We are once again “adopting” a house providing all of the necessary materials and labor. We will work on a home in Riverdale, Maryland.
Taking into account COVID-19 precautions we will only be working outside of the home this year. The size of our team will be limited to 12 people. The successful completion of this mission project will not be possible without financial support as well. Our donations this year will be for exterior repairs such as a new door and landscape materials. We thank you in advance for your generosity of support both physically and financially. This project always turns out to be a fun and rewarding day spent with friends.
