GCC’s Green Team engages the congregation in ways to be more environmentally friendly and increase our stewardship of our God-given resources. Our church’s rain garden, funded by a County program, was completed and dedicated in May 2019. It is a beautiful asset to our grounds and functions to slow and filter storm water runoff.
Together with the rain cistern, also funded by a grant, it helps to conserve and manage water on our church grounds, and part of our stewardship is to maintain these water-capturing assets.

Other ongoing projects include composting and recycling. In the future, we hope to seek certification as a Sacred Grounds community through the National Wildlife Federation.
