I hope you had a lovely and meaningful Veteran’s day on Tuesday; and that you were able to share your gratitude for someone’s service in the armed forces or currently in active duty.
As you know, we are hosting the Social Supper on Monday, November 17 at 6:30PM. Congregational Life and Communications, has shared these inviting posts of this event “everywhere”; through social media, the News Review and printable flyers.

This adventure reminded me of my college days where students posted flyers for everything from selling used textbooks to buying old furniture to soliciting housemates.
I put flyers in the Co-op, a barber shop with oversized persimmons on its front porch for sale; and Eric at the Sunoco was tall enough to put the flyers up in a most prominent place in the gas station.
I shared with a woman and child walking a border collie…
I hope some of them will join us for fun, fellowship and community connection in these trying times. The colorful foliage and bright sunshine cleared my head and made me feel hopeful. I wish the same for you.
Don’t forget this coming Sunday is our Pledge Sunday where we make a financial commitment to the next year of ministry programming of faith and justice work through our church.
AND, right after worship we will have our first “Selah Sanctuary” for up to an hour. Selah is a Hebrew word found 71 times in the Book of Psalms. It means to “pause and think of that”; considering the magnitude of what has been said.
“Sanctuary” comes from the Latin word “sanctus”, meaning holy. It means a holy place of safety and refuge.
Let us come together to listen deeply to each other and reflect in the safety of our community. This sharing time is in-person, only.
See you for worship on Sunday, in person or online.
Beloved,
Pastor Aubra
