Souper Bowl of Caring
This annual event encourages the community to donate non-perishable food. GCC’s “Souper Bowl of Caring” is February 11 so please consider bringing in non-perishable food items for donation to Help By Phone. They are in need of items such as beef stew, chili, pork and beans, jars of applesauce, spaghetti sauce, bags of rice, boxed dry
Ash Wednesday Service
GCC’s Ash Wednesday Service is at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, March 5. This moving service marks the start of the Lenten Season and will include hymns and the imposition of ashes.
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
Join us for our Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper on Tuesday February 13 from 5:30-7:00pm. Pancakes, sausages, baked apples—bring a friend or neighbor. All are welcome!
Christmas Festival
Come celebrate the Christmas season with Greenbelt Community Church, United Church of Christ. Join us for an outdoor Christmas Festival on Sunday, December 11, 3:00-5:00 p.m. Members are hard at work planning special activities including: Christmas Caroling Christmas Storybooks Reading Gingerbread Decorating Hot Beverages and Cookies Crafts for All Ages Fire Pit A Live Nativity
Help “decorate” the Mitten Tree!
We will be collecting hats, gloves/mittens, and scarves to donate to Springhill Lake & Greenbelt Elementary Schools. Children range in age from Kindergarten (5 years old) to 5th grade (10 years old). We will collect through the month of December. Thank you for sharing some GCC warmth with our area children!
Annual Christmas Project for Families in Need
The cards will be posted at the back of the church. You may take one card or more than one. Please keep a copy or write down the family number. Gifts should be wrapped and the 3×5 card securely taped onto the bag or package. They can be dropped off at the church office Mon–Thurs
Thanksgiving Eve Interfaith Service
The Greenbelt Interfaith Leadership Association (GILA) will be holding Greenbelt’s annual Thanksgiving Interfaith Celebration on Wednesday, November 22, at 7:30 PM scheduled now for Mishkan Torah. All are welcome. We have much to be thankful for and it is a lovely way to start the holiday.
Spaghetti Dinner and Entertainment Extravaganza
Come join GCC friends and family on Saturday November 4th for a delicious spaghetti dinner from 5-6:30pm, followed by a live entertainment extravaganza from 6:45-:8pm. A free-will donation will be accepted at the door, and all proceeds go to support local charities
