Rev. Aubra Love
Rev. Aubra Love comes to the Greenbelt Community Church UCC from most recently serving on the Pastoral Team of a United Church of Christ congregation in Silver Spring, MD- Montgomery County. We welcome her as a compassionate pastor and powerful preacher.
An authorized minister in the Potomac Association, Rev. Love was ordained in the Southern Conference and has served in a variety of positions and roles, from pastor and church revitalization specialist to judicatory executive as acting Associate Conference Minister in the Central Atlantic Conference of the United Church of Christ.
A social entrepreneur and retired commercial banker, Rev. Aubra Love is the founder of The Black Church and Domestic Violence Institute, an educational ministry that brought the voices of the historic Black church to the Violence Against Women’s movement, along with secular coalitions and sacred partnerships.
Rev. Love is the award-winning author of Our Lactating God: The Embodied Amen. She is a veteran movement-ethicist, gardener, and grandmother. She is the daughter of foot soldiers dedicated to literacy action for Black voter registration in the southeast and the American Civil Rights Movement.
Rev. Aubra Love earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, and a Master of Divinity from the Morehouse School of Religion at the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA.
